EVERYDAY BLOOMS

DAILY ROUTINE AND PRODUCTS WE LOVE

daily routine

We are excited to share daytime rituals and nourishing daily routine of our founders—how they charge up and stay on top of their daily life. A sneak peek into what day-to-night self-care looks like to Stephanie and Golnaz the founders and forces behind IN BLOOM DROPS. The products and daily routines focus on self-exploration, beauty and nutrition.

As an advocate of conscious beauty my skincare routine plays a key role in my day to day wellness routine. It is important to highlight that we should see our skincare routine holistically and understand how it just as important what we consume (water/food) as what we put topically onto our skin.

We can have all the products in the world sitting beautifully on our bathroom shelves but how many do you actually use? And are you consistent??

Consistency is the KEY to a successful skin care routine. Stephanie

My current top beauty products:

Augustinus BaderThe Cleansing Balm. This balm is so nourishing on your face both morning and night with the right consistency to get off makeup, grim while not stripping your skin and giving you that dry feeling after cleansing. I put some on the tip of my fingers and create circular motions over my face and neck, with a reusable cotton pad I wash it off. If I have had makeup on I will double cleanse. This is definitely a winter must have, the balm really helps keep skin hydrated.

Medik8 C – Tetra Serum – I literally cannot live without this product. After a spritz of rose water toner in the morning I add a few drops to my skin. It creates the right nourishment for the skin penetrates deeply enough into the skin to restore radiance and improve uneven skin tone and any pigmentation. Why VITAMIN C? It stimulates healthy collagen and elastin production keeping our skin youthful and supple.

In Bloom Drops – KASHAN Add some extra hydration with In Bloom Drops KASHAN on a daily basis then you have the recipe for youthful fresh looking skin.

Stephanie’s daily skincare routine:

First pour KASHAN drop into a glass of water and replenish after a good nights sleep.

Cleanse the face with a cleansing balm or oil – perfect for winter months and helping to aid hydration within the skin. Balms and oils tend to be less harsh on the skin which is helpful when the outside weather can take its toll on your skin barrier.

Tone – something that doesn’t torture the skin but nurture, Natural rose water is great, there are also some AHA facial toners that help exfoliate, brighten and tighten the skin while being gentle enough. We can sometimes fall into the trap of over exfoliating or using products that create more damage than good.

MEDIK8 – this is wear serums come in, VITAMIN C is a must in everyone’s routine to help promote youthful, healthy skin.

MOISTURISE – This is a key step especially in winter when we need to seal moisture into the skin and protect from the environment. I tend to use a moisturiser with SPF which is still needed even if you think the sun is not out.

A simple routine that you can keep is better than an over complicated one that you end up doing a few times a week. In the winter months just make sure your feeding your skin with nutrients that promote HYDRATION. The cold weather can be really damaging as can affects of having the heating on full blast at home no matter how comforting.

Experience the Power of functional Medicine

When you nourish your body with what it needs to function at its best, you experience balanced hormones, enhanced mood and brain function. The body starts to repair itself. Its never too late to start your transformation as the body repair itself when given the right nutrients and dedication.

Functional medicine for longevity is the area I’m interested in these days. My Persian heritage celebrates functional medicine at its best for centuries. Golnaz

THE POWER OF VITAMIN C FOR LONGEVITY:

I take vitamin C powder in a form of Ascorbic Acid for fast absorption. Mixed in a glass of water every morning before a light breakfast.

Unless on days that I’m fasting  14 hours then I take it at noon 30 min after my first meal. If you do a quick search on Internet, you’ll find endless benefits from supporting immune system, glowing skin, weight management, metabolism and recently brain protective qualities of vitamin C.

LambertsThis is pure Vitamin C powder. It is ideal for those who do not like taking tablets. You can stir it into drinks or sprinkle it onto your breakfast.

USING MAGNESIUM FOR BETTER SLEEP

Good quality sleep is important for body cells rejuvenation. Our body repair itself during sleep.

My nightly routine is having an early dinner and no sugar before bed.

Just before going to bed I take 250 mg to 500 mg magnesium in a form of magnesium oxide. This form of magnesium helps with relaxation, bone health, sleep and generally more beneficial to take as a bedtime supplement.

Nature’s Truth – I have been taking this brand for years and I have to say even though the price could put you off as not an upscale brand, my experience has been great.  I have tried other brands some were in a higher price range and non worked as good as pure magnesium oxide.

Magnesium deficiency (1) is very common among adults. Estimates suggest we don’t get enough magnesium.  Women are also at higher risk for low magnesium (2), especially with age.

Next time you are sleepless take magnesium before bed and you’ll notice the difference.

SAY NO TO COFFEE

Although I have never been a huge coffee drinker, I have had at least a cup a day since my 20’s. for the past 2 years I noticed some of the unpleasant side effects of caffeine; Jitteriness, fluctuation in blood glucose and water retention.

Caffeine affects everyone differently. Some people might metabolize caffeine faster, which makes them more tolerant, whereas others may be very sensitive.

My DNA test revealed low enzyme that directly involves in metabolizing caffeine in the liver.

MATCHA GREEN TEA AS REPLACEMENT

I decided to switch to Matcha green tea for it has less caffeine than coffee. Typically, a cup of coffee has somewhere between 80 and 100 mg of caffeine far surpassing green tea’s typical range of 30 to 50 mg.

Matcha green tea also contains certain phytonutrients, like L-theanine, that helps with the slow absorption of caffeine.

Earlier this year I finally pulled the trigger and went off caffeine. The immediate effects on my body are promising; I no longer experience water retention and my 3 pm post lunch crash has improved. My blood glucose is more stable although I crave sweets sometimes; I try to drink a full glass of water with PERSIA drop after lunch. Persia is pure extract of  cinnamon and cardamom without additives and zero calorie. It helps to balance blood glucose and reduce sugar cravings.
